Task Troopers Free Laptop Program (FLP)
Official Policy, Terms, and Conditions of Participation
I. Purpose

The Task Troopers Free Laptop Program (FLP) exists to reduce educational technology disparities by providing eligible students with access to a functional laptop for academic purposes. The Program is designed to serve students who lack the financial ability to obtain a personal computer that is necessary for schoolwork, research, communication, and continued academic progress.

II. Program Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

The applicant must be a student enrolled in elementary school, middle school, high school, or an accredited college or university at the time of application.

The applicant must demonstrate a legitimate and verifiable need for a laptop due to insufficient access to a functioning computer within the household.

Priority consideration will be given to students without reliable access to any working computer in their home.

Task Troopers does not discriminate against any applicant on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected status.

III. Laptop Donation and Refurbishment

Task Troopers accepts laptop donations from individuals, corporations, educational institutions, and other organizations.

All donated devices become the property of Task Troopers at the time of donation.

Every device is securely wiped, restored, inspected, and refurbished by Task Troopers volunteers or authorized partners prior to redistribution.

Task Troopers reserves the right to determine whether a donated device meets minimum operational standards.

IV. Application and Review Process

Applicants or their legal guardians must submit a Laptop Request Form available at www.tasktroopers.org/laptop
.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis based on need and device availability.

Task Troopers may request additional documentation to confirm eligibility.

Submission of an application does not guarantee approval, nor does approval guarantee immediate delivery.

V. Distribution of Laptops

Upon approval, Task Troopers will contact the applicant to arrange an authorized pickup or scheduled delivery.

Devices are distributed for educational use only.

Task Troopers assumes no responsibility for maintenance, servicing, repair, loss, or damage once a device is delivered.

All laptops are provided “as-is,” without any warranty, express or implied.

VI. One Laptop Per Household Policy

Task Troopers strictly enforces a one laptop per household policy.
For the purposes of this policy, a household is defined as all persons residing at the same physical residential address, regardless of legal, familial, or custodial status.

Prohibited Conduct

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

Submitting multiple applications under different names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses for the purpose of obtaining additional devices

Misrepresenting identity, residency, or household composition

Providing fraudulent, misleading, or intentionally false information in any application or communication

Any attempt to circumvent the one-laptop-per-household policy may result in:

Immediate cancellation of all pending applications

Retrieval of previously distributed devices

Referral to law enforcement for investigation of potential fraud or theft by deception

Task Troopers reserves the right to report suspected fraudulent activity to appropriate authorities.

VII. Verification and Compliance

Applicants must comply with all verification requests. Failure to cooperate may result in denial or revocation of program participation. Task Troopers reserves the right to:

Verify residency or identity
