SECTION 3: THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
To operate our Services effectively, Task Troopers engages certain third-party service providers who may access or process personal information on our behalf. All such providers are engaged pursuant to written agreements requiring them to maintain appropriate data security and to use personal information only to provide services to Task Troopers, not for their own commercial purposes.

Our current third-party service providers include, but are not limited to, the following:

Firebase / Google LLC: We use Firebase (a Google LLC platform) for database storage, user authentication, and backend services supporting InternDeck and our mobile application. User data stored in Firebase is subject to Google's data processing terms. Google may process data on servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com.

Vercel, Inc.: Our InternDeck web application and associated backend functions are hosted on Vercel's cloud infrastructure. Vercel may process server-side request data, including IP addresses, as part of routine hosting operations. For more information, see vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Any information processed through AI tools is used solely for internal administrative purposes and is subject to Anthropic's usage policies. Task Troopers does not use AI tools to make automated eligibility decisions without human review.

Other Providers: We may from time to time engage additional service providers for email delivery, analytics, form processing, or other operational functions. Any such providers are subject to data processing requirements consistent with this Policy. A current list of providers may be requested by contacting hello@tasktroopers.org.

SECTION 4: CHILDREN'S PRIVACY AND COPPA COMPLIANCE
Task Troopers takes the protection of children's privacy with the utmost seriousness. A significant portion of our beneficiaries are minors, including students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. This Section governs how we handle personal information related to children under thirteen (13) years of age in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq. ("COPPA"), and its implementing regulations at 16 C.F.R. Part 312.

4.1 COPPA Applicability
COPPA applies to the online collection of personal information from children under 13. Although Task Troopers does not operate websites or applications directed primarily at children, our Services are used in connection with programs that serve children, and we may incidentally collect personal information about minors under 13 in the course of administering the Free Laptop Program.

4.2 Verifiable Parental Consent
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Prior to collecting any personal information from or about a child under 13, we require a parent or legal guardian to:
• Review the nature and purpose of our information collection practices;
• Consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of the child's personal information as described in this Policy; and
• Acknowledge these Terms on behalf of the minor participant.
Consent may be provided through our program application process, which requires a parent or guardian signature. Digital consent collected electronically constitutes valid consent under applicable law.

4.3 Information Collected About Children Under 13
Where parental consent has been obtained, we collect only the personal information that is reasonably necessary to:
• Verify the child's enrollment and eligibility for the Free Laptop Program;
• Facilitate delivery of a refurbished device to the child's household; and
• Maintain records required for nonprofit program administration and grant reporting.
We do not collect behavioral data, create profiles of children for commercial purposes, or disclose children's information to third parties except as necessary to administer the program or as required by law.

4.4 Parental Rights Under COPPA
Parents and legal guardians have the right to:
• Review the personal information collected from or about their child;
• Request correction or deletion of their child's personal information;
• Withdraw consent for further collection or use of their child's information; and
• Refuse to permit further use or collection of their child's information while still permitting the child to participate in the program, to the extent possible given operational requirements.
To exercise any of these rights, parents or guardians may contact us at hello@tasktroopers.org. We will respond to verifiable requests within thirty (30) days.

4.5 Deletion of Children's Information
Upon receipt of a verified request from a parent or guardian, we will delete personal information collected from or about a child under 13 from our active records, subject to any legal retention obligations. Deletion from archived or backup systems will occur in the ordinary course of our data management practices.

SECTION 5: DATA RETENTION
Task Troopers retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to administer our programs, and to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations. Our general data retention practices are as follows:

Upon expiration of the applicable retention period, personal information is securely deleted or de-identified. We do not retain personal information beyond what is reasonably required for our operational and legal purposes.

SECTION 6: DATA SECURITY
Task Troopers implements reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction. These measures include:
• Encrypted transmission of data via HTTPS/TLS protocols across all web-based Services;
• Access controls limiting the use of personal data to authorized personnel and volunteers with a legitimate operational need;
• Use of secure, reputable third-party cloud infrastructure providers with established data security programs;
• Regular review of access permissions and credential management; and
• Volunteer onboarding procedures that include data privacy and confidentiality obligations.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information transmitted to or stored by our Services. You acknowledge and accept this inherent risk by using our Services.
In the event of a data breach that materially affects your personal information, we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.

SECTION 7: YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction and the nature of your interaction with our Services, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

• Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Right to Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information in our records.
• Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations.

SECTION 8: COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Our website may use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to enable essential site functionality, remember user preferences, and collect aggregate usage statistics. We do not use tracking technologies for cross-site behavioral advertising or third-party ad targeting.

• Essential Cookies: Required for basic site functionality, such as session management and security. These cannot be disabled without affecting site performance.
• Analytics Cookies: Used to collect aggregate, anonymized data about how visitors interact with our website to improve user experience. No personally identifiable information is retained for analytics purposes.

You may configure your browser to decline cookies or to alert you when cookies are being used. However, certain features of the Services may not function properly if cookies are disabled. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals at this time, but we continue to evaluate best practices as standards evolve.

Upon termination, all rights and licenses granted to you under this Agreement immediately cease. Sections of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination (including but not limited to disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law provisions) shall survive indefinitely.

SECTION 23: GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
23.1 Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules that would cause the application of the laws of any other jurisdiction.

Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Task Troopers with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous agreements, representations, and understandings, whether oral or written.

Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Waiver: No failure or delay by Task Troopers to exercise any right or remedy under this Agreement shall constitute a waiver of such right or remedy. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Task Troopers.

No Third-Party Beneficiaries: This Agreement is for the sole and exclusive benefit of the parties hereto and does not create any rights in, or obligations to, any third party.

Assignment: You may not assign, transfer, or sublicense any of your rights or obligations under this Agreement without the prior written consent of Task Troopers. Task Troopers may assign its rights and obligations freely without restriction.

Force Majeure: Task Troopers shall not be liable for any delay or failure in the performance of its obligations under this Agreement to the extent such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, government action, cyberattacks, or internet infrastructure failures.
